Time Table:
- Fellows / Attending Registrars will work five days/week from 9:00am-5:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm.
- In addition to Friday, fellows / attending registrars will have one day off (either Saturday or Thursday).
- Each fellow / attending registrar will have six on-call night shifts per month.
- The night shifts will include one Friday each month.
- Annual Leave:
- Fellows / Attending Registrars will be given three weeks/year annual leave.
- These weeks may be divided into two periods, at a maximum.
- Each period should not exceed more than two weeks.
- Annual leaves will be determined provisionally for all fellows / attending registrars at the beginning of each year.

Duties and Privileges:
- Fellows / Attending Registrars will have a detailed description of their duties and privileges. They must strictly adhere to their responsibilities.
- Fellows / Attending Registrars should attend all rounds, consultations, MDM and ER calls.
- Fellows / Attending Registrars should have two rounds with patients per day, in the morning and afternoon.
- Each patient admitted to the hospital will be followed by a specific fellow / attending registrar. The fellow / attending registrar should follow the patient from admission to discharge. The fellow / attending registrar will be responsible for the completeness of all of the patient's documents. The fellow / attending registrar must also ensure that all orders are properly done.
- Fellows / Attending Registrars will be responsible for training and teaching the residents.
- During the fourth and fifth year, fellows / attending registrars will work in subspecialty units. Fellows / Attending Registrars should follow the policies of these units and stick to their privileges as stated in the detailed program.

Syllabus:
- In each rotation period, a syllabus will be provided by the program. Fellows / Attending Registrars must study these syllabi very carefully and adhere to all activities.

Certification:
Fellows / Attending Registrars should achieve the following certification during their five years of training:
- "MD Degree" from an accredited university

Recruitment:
- Fellows / Attending Registrars will be recruited each year, the number of candidates will vary according to each programs' requirements
- Each candidate's qualifications will be carefully considered via a thorough selection process.
- Recruitment will be specified each year by newspaper advertisement.
- A maximum of 2 candidates will be selected and another two will be selected for the waiting list.

Selection Process:
- Candidates should hold a "Master degree in desired specialty" from an accredited university
- Candidates should have completed their residency period for three years in a tertiary center and have no military obligation.
- The minimum graduation grade is "Very Good", and preferably "Excellent".
- The minimum master grade is "Good", and preferably "Very Good" or "Excellent".
- ECFMG certificate or fellowship degree or any other medical education is considered an asset.
- Candidates will be evaluated according to the following schema:
- Graduation Grade: 25% of score
- Master Grade: 25% of score
- DAF Exam: 25% of score
- Residency Training: 25% of score
- The interview process will occur in two steps:
- Department interview with three consultant members from the department
- Senior hospital management interview with the head of the medical council and the general manager (or CEO) of the hospital
- Certificates other than specialty medical degrees will not qualify the candidate for this position. However, if the applicant holds an MD degree in general medicine or equivalent, he/she might be given the opportunity to obtain this position. In such case, he/she should complete the master degree in the desired specialty within 12 months; otherwise, his/her fellowship program will be terminated.

Promotion:
- Fellows / Attending Registrars who have completed the five year program successfully have the opportunity to join DAF as a fulltime attendant, once they have finished their MD degree.
- Fellows / Attending Registrars may be offered an opportunity to travel abroad during the program, depending on availability.

Terms and Conditions:
- Fellows / Attending Registrars will have a fulltime contract with the hospital for five years.
- Fellows / Attending Registrars prohibited from practicing in any facility other than Dar Al Fouad Hospital.
- Fellows / Attending Registrars will be offered a certificate of completion after three years for the general portion and another certificate after two years for the subspecialty portion. No letters of recommendation will be given before these dates.
