Joint Commission International

JCAHO's Joint Commission International (JCI) was founded in the late 1990s to survey hospitals outside of the United States. JCI, which is also not-for-profit, currently accredits facilities in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America. JCI accreditation is considered the gold standard in global health care.

Dar Al Fouad 6th of October branch was the first hospital to introduce the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation to the Egyptian healthcare sector back in 2005 when it was first accredited. In 2020, Dar Al Fouad Hospital was re-accredited by the JCI for the sixth time in its 20-year-long history.

In November 2017, Dar Al Fouad’s 6th of October branch stroke unit became the first of its kind in Egypt to be accredited by the JCI and in 2020, the stroke unit’s accreditation was renewed for the second time.

Dar Al Fouad 6th of October branch is also the first hospital in Egypt to receive a JCI certification for both its Acute Myocardial Infarction and Pain Management programs in 2021.

Dar Al Fouad Nasr City branch has been accredited by JCI on March 2022 which was built on the inherited experience from October branch to continue a journey of excellence in providing integrated, accessible, high quality, and universal healthcare services which can improve Egyptians health conditions.
